Skillet BBQ Chicken

I heart BBQ Chicken!  Living in an apartment and not being allowed to have a personal grill....stinks!  So, last Sunday when the craving hit hard, I broke down and made it inside.  Please don't tell master-grillers this, but it was actually some of the best damn BBQ Chicken I've ever made.  Please feel free to use any cut of chicken you want...I used thighs because they lend extra flavor to the dish!

What you'll need:
4 chicken thighs, thawed
1 onion, chopped
1 tablespoon Lawry's Garlic Salt
2 cups barbecue sauce (any flavor will do)
2 tablespoons light brown sugar
1 tablespoon butter

1.  In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat.  Saute onion until transparent.
2.  Add chicken thighs, season with garlic salt and pepper, and brown on each side.
3.  Add brown sugar and stir until melted. Pour in BBQ sauce and reduce heat to medium-low or low.
4.  Simmer for 20-30 minutes or until chicken is no longer pink.

**This meal is easily adapted to a crock-pot, just put all ingredients into the crock pot and cook on low for 8 hours.**
